For those running a Honda PCX engine swap with the factory engine-top cover and plastic assembly removed, adding a simple guard over this opening is highly recommended. The opening needs to remain exposed for proper ventilation and radiator airflow, so do not seal it shut. However, leaving it completely open creates an easy path for rocks, bolts, or other loose objects to fall inside, which could potentially damage the flywheel and stator. Bolts on within a few minutes and could be removed anytime!
