The Zeus Armor 2 in 1 Rear Hatch Tie Down Plate for Honda Element (2003-2011) offers a reliable and accessible anchor point for securing items that extend beyond your vehicle, such as kayaks, surfboards, or canoes. It could also be used to stabilize a load on the tow hitch. 

It also strengthens the hatch mount by spreading the load over a larger area, protecting the sheet metal around the rear hatch shocks from bending, bucking, or shearing due to a concentrated pressure point/spot. This reinforcement is especially useful for Elements with longer upgraded struts that lift the hatch higher. Made from steel with a black powder-coated finish, the kit includes four self-tapping screws for a sturdy and lasting installation.
