Bad Bitches – Garry Richardson’s Honda Grom 125

There are many Honda Grom’s in the world, however there’s only one with two ‘Bad Bitches’. We would like to share with you, Garry Richardson’s 2014 Honda Grom 125.

Bad Bitches came a long way from how it sits today. Being one of the first few selected individual to actually receive the first shipment of Grom’s from Honda of Glendale, Garry was considered very lucky. During the time, the wait-list and deposit for the newly released bike was off the records. Dealers nationwide had wait-lists between 10-25 people waiting for Grom’s to be delivered. Being able to score the highly sought after bike, could be a mission itself. Broken arrival dates led to longer waits for many people and the dealer markup ranges from $1,000 – $1,500 above sticker. However, Garry was fortunate to pay slightly above the sticker price and was able to dodge additional wait times.

Before we jump straight to the feature, we’ll do a quick cruise through memory lanes to show the progress and stages of Bad Bitches.

Shortly after Garry got his hands on the new beast, the modifications and customization began… and it never stopped, same with the fun.

During this time, only a limited amount of parts were available. However that didn’t stopped Garry from doing what he envisioned. One of the first stops he made was to us when we were still located on Joe Vargas in South El Monte.

Bad Bitches was actually the 2nd Grom that received the prototype Chimera Race Header. It was one of two bikes that also received the first the Racetech suspension as well. In one way or another, Bad Bitches was the reason why some of these popular Grom products exist today!IMG_2201_zps0c2008de IMG_2207_zpsfff36ae8

After this stage of Bad Bitches’ build, some may think that Garry’s Grom is a full blown show bike. However they’re wrong, as good as Bad Bitches looked during this time, Garry would take the Grom out to the tracks and race it.

Here are some photos from a M1GP 2hr Endurance race back in 2014.

Garry and his brother Scott had a Grom rivalry going on during the time. Read more about it here from Super Street Bike- Sibling Rivalry Garry and Scott. Here are some photos of them chasing each other around the racetrack.

Now that Bad Bitches history has unfolded, here’s how she sits today.

Living proof that the Grom is one fun machine to build. Garry went all out and decided to change the whole look of the bike with a Tyga MRX full fairing kit, SMR Dry Clutch Kit, custom pin-striping, and the list continues!

Garry wasn’t quite satisfied with the original seat pad that the MRX kit included, so with a little bit of our assistance (really we were just picking fun at him while he worked), he fabricated a custom one made from aluminum. Some may think working with aluminum for the first time is easy and Garry will be the first to tell you otherwise. The words coming out of his mouth would be a parent’s nightmare.

One feature that will definitely trip people out is the unique sound that the bike produces while it’s running. Thank to the Sex Machine Racing Dry Clutch conversion, it tends to give folks the most confuse facial expressions during the first encounter with Bad Bitches. If it’s not an confused expression, it’s a second take on the bike to see if it’s a Ducati or a miniature Ducati. It’s only a sounds that one can experience upclose, but to give you a glimpse of what sound, check our Instagram post HERE.

Over Racing Aluminum rear swing arm with under bracing paired together with a set of Over Racing rims. Over Racing TT Formula S Exhaust system in the Titanium was Garry’s choice for the perfect sound and look.

One feature that really stands out is the custom pin-up girls and pin-striping done by Skratch Garage in Burbank, CA. Garry went over some details with Skratch and informed him that he wanted two bad ass bitches on there. Skatch did what was asked and give Garry’s the bitches that he asked for… In case you haven’t already figured out where the name arose from.steadygarage-0346

SMR Stator cover that perfectly balance out the SMR Dry Clutch Kit from the other side of the engine. No details were left alone.
